Wow. The 13-time European champions Real Madrid have fallen to defeat against minnows Sheriff, who have now won their first two games in the Champions League. A disappointing result for Carlo Ancelotti's side, especially as this is their first Champions League match back at the Bernabeu after a year and seven months away. Sheriff, led by the very impressive Giorgos Athanasiadis in goal, can feel very proud of this result.

Match Summary :

     A great save by Athanasiadis Benzema's reverse pass into Modric inside the area led to the Croatian firing a shot goalwards, but his effort was saved by the head of Sheriff goalkeeper Giorgos Athanasiadis.

     SHERIFF SCORE... but it's an offside long throw by Sheriff led to Cristiano crossing for Bruno, who guided a shot past Courtois, but he was ever so slightly offside.

      Penalty to Real Madrid! Vinicius' flip-flap saw him get away from Addo and Costanza before going down, and after a VAR review, it was decided that there was sufficient contact for it to be a penalty.

      Alaba with a teasing free-kick David Alaba's opted to cross from a free-kick and it went right across the six-yard box, but no Real Madrid player was able to make contact with it. In these opening five minutes, it has been all Real Madrid.
